Today I practiced on an outdoor basketball court, a much different experience than the 1970’s carpet of my apartment floor. Of all the floors I’ve danced on so far, my top pick is smooth wood because I can move like Hong 10 (kind of) and glide like Lilou (I’m kidding).
And it really makes a difference when you’re learning to backspin. After like 57 backspins on concrete with a brown (once was white) T-shirt, I decided that backspins look really cool if you can spin more than once.
On my day 20 update video, I plan on busting out this move for the whole world to see.
Tip of the day: When you’re learning to backspin, do it on a wood floor.
